9A Amy Ho, Claudia Chen, Alisa Chen, Bill Chen, Justin Wu, Jim Lin

April 29, 2014 is the first day for class 9A, B, and C to start our 12 days graduation trip. All of us gathered in Taoyuan International Airport and flew to Hongkong. We went on the Ngong Ping 360 cable car after we arrived in Hongkong. The statue of Buddha was the most famous mark on the top. We had to climb up 200 steps in order to see the statue clearly. I think it symbolizes the work that we need to pay in order to see the beautiful sight. We also visited Donghui Outlet, it is a shopping mall that focuses their costumers on the higher level. The shopping mall’s concept is very organized, the list of items are listed nicely and are able to make their costumers easier to figure out their needs. After that, we spent some of the times in the shopping mall and then we headed our way to ShenZhen. What was really special about today was that we had to wash our plates before we eat. What made us really surprised was that the bus that we took was parking on the fast road while we eat. We found and understand the differences between cultures, and that’s the biggest lesson we learn today.

Today is April 29th. We visited  to Shenzhen foreign language school to experience the educational system of china. We were welcomed with hospitality and soon settled into the classes. One thing we noticed was that the students from the school was very proactive, and enthusiastic with just about everything, from welcoming us, answering questions in class, to getting into passionate discussions on the subjects of the class. I think there positive attitude is definitely something that we can learn from.

We arrived at the Airmate Company after taking a long bus ride from the foreign language school. We were immediately sent to a auditorium where the co-CEO of the Airmate Household Appliances Company warmly welcomed us. He introduced the company to us, talked about the things the company went through before becoming this big, and explained the legacy of that company. One thing we noticed when he was making a speech was that he told us a lot of stories. The stories he told were incredibly good and we loved to hear them. After the stories were told and the questions were answered, a guide took us through the company. The guide showed us different sections and parts of the manufacturing department. After the tour, we head out to Happy Seaside.

Happy Seaside Mall was completely different from what we expected. It wasn't just a department store like what we expected, it was a large complex where it has streets, stores, markets, retail stores, monuments and large squares. There was a lot of things that they have that cannot be found anywhere in Taiwan like H&M. For dinner, we ate at a hot pot restaurant on the other side of Happy Seaside. Not only the food there was delicious, it was also very clean. The waiters and waitresses were patient and kind. We came out of the restaurant with our belly's full of food and happiness.

馬來西亞藥廠Y.S.P.SAH

BATU CAVES

PETRONAS Twin Towers

Batu Caves
Badu Caves is about 13 kilometers away from the commercial center of Kuala Lumpur. On Thaipusam, this limestone cave always attract large number of tourists to visit it. Impression

We visited the Malaysian pharmaceutical Y.S.PSAH group this morning. First we listened carefully to Y.S.P first vice president, who gave us information. She described the inner works of the company, industrial structure and developing history so that we could have better understanding of this industry. After listening to the information, we all knew clearly about this group, so we started to look around. In the pharmaceutical factory, we saw plenty of different pharmaceutical drugs, but most of them were in boxes. Although we couldn’t see the drugs, the vice president still explained clearly to us. We also went into the freezer and felt the temperature. This trip to the pharmacy let us learn a lot about the operation and structure of an industry.

In the afternoon, we went to Badu Caves. Once we got off the car, we saw a golden Lord Shiva stood in front of us, and we all said together “WOW!” The steep stairs behind it was even more surprising to us. This was the first time we saw a staircase that had nearly 300 stairs. We were all shocked that we had to reach to the top or we couldn’t see the beautiful view. At first, we chatted and even raced with each other. As our energy started to go down, our speed gradually slow down. Finally, we arrived the Batu Caves. It was really amazing! Inside the cave, the top temple was indeed picturesque. In the limestone caves, carvings of Hindu mythology were all around. Praise the splendid works of Mother Nature. When we looked up to the sky, there came a patio which appeared to be shaped by erosion, and sunshine occasionally spilled from it.

Then we came to the Petronas Twin Towers. We were all very excited about the trip, because we had heard that this was once the tallest building in the world. Although it wasn’t the tallest anymore, its majesty still surprised us. In front of us, there stood two magnificent office buildings. It was said that the building had 88 floors, but unfortunately we had no way to reach the top floor. In the food court downstairs, we enjoyed the local Malay-style dinner, and we also felt the enthusiasm of local service personnel. We all hoped to have chances to come back visiting it again.

The first group to go to Hong Kong is the class DEF. We met art the Taoyuan airport at 6:55, and we are left Taiwan very excited, and urgent to have many great experiences. When we arrived at the Hong Kong airport we knew how small the Taiwan airport is!! However the Taiwan had a very unique Taiwanese feeling. The first place we went is the 360 trams at the Nong Ping and was on it for 20minutes in the beautiful sky that covers Hong Kong. And the destination the tram went is the Buddha in the mountain that we had to climb 200 stairs in the hot temperature to arrive there. However the Buddha wad very interesting and we had a great time there. And we also went to the outlet, because Hong Kong is the center market of East Asia, so we saw many shops from different countries and it was very interesting, just like we are in another country. In Shengzhen, we knew the real China

If any Malay intends to withdraw from Islam, one must be approved by the Islamic court, otherwise it will be regarded as apostasy. Generally Religious Affairs will discourage them (depends on the Islamic laws in each states) by law enforcement and judiciary. If the Islamic court approved a Malay’s withdraw, this person will no longer be regarded as a Malay in law. There are very few Malays who had successfully withdraw from Islam so far.

The left and right corners on top of the pink mosque in Malaysia were designed with star-reflecting devices, the central glass was built through German technics. The roof pattern was carved by hands and originated from Egypt. The mosque was built in June, 1999.

The F1 racing circuit in Malaysia has a history of 56 years. The Sepang circuit is 5.543 kilometers long and was built in November, 1998. The facilities were outstanding, which include the finest auditorium and other high-tech equipment, but the circuit was not used for races formally until 1999. The main area can hold 30000 people while the rest of the auditorium can hold 80000 people. The record of this circuit is 1:34.223, and it was made by Montoya from team Williams. It should takes 58 laps for a race, but since the circuit was renovated 2 years ago and the length was slightly increased, it only takes 56 laps now.

Once we got off the plane, the sunglasses we bought finally can be used. After a while, a thunder rain struck by, makes me feel the spectacular weather in Malaysia. Perhaps, this is what they called the enthusiasm of Malaysia.

We went to Mosque later, and saw a holy place. Girls and boys without trousers need to wear special robes in order to go in the mosque. Inside there are amazing decorations, and the provision is strict. People can’t let their hairs out and need to take their shoes off. Talking aloud or postures of worshiping are forbidden inside. In the temple we did not see any statue of Buddha, only the magnificent decor, noble and sacred, seems like the work of God. This highlights Islam's insistence and features.

After we got off the plane, our first stop was the car museum near the airport. Once we got to the museum, we are amazed by the yellow big nose monkey. After looking at the classical and fancy cars made in Malaysia, we understood the Malaysian’s deep research toward cars. What we have seen is not just the cars and motorcycles, but the dedication and enthusiasm for cars. It was said that the cars in Malaysia was imported from Japan and because of the technology was not good enough at that time, the cars all looked like the same. Now the government promote the domestic cars so the prices are lower.
